Last week we watched the antics of Westminster's parliament the so called House of the Commons and House of the Lords debate the handing over to Scotland the right to hold its referendum on remaining a part of the Union of 1707. The Act of Union gave the Westminster parliament the right to ratify this. What a shambolic series of events it was and showed up London rule for what it is.
We had the Labour quisling Davidson stand and argue that the Scottish National Party celebrated the murder of the english referring to the 700th aniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn. What a load of utter sh**te. Scots not just the SNP have celebrated the Battle of Bannockburn ever since the day it happened. It was a battle which happened in a war. The war for Scotland’s Independence and why should we not celebrate it.
Of course the charade that was the Westminster commons gave those opposed to the constitutional changes that Independence for Scotland would bring some media attention but the motion was approved and it was of to the House of Lords. There can be no other country in the works whose legislation is passed by an un-elected body. This hive of ageing has been’s with the term jobs for the boys etched to their foreheads were given an oportunity to debate Scotland’s future. We saw Michael Bruce Forsyth, Baron Forsyth of Drumlean stand and claim the Scottish Parliament was a dictatorship when it it represented the democraticaly elected government of Scotland. This government was voted on by the people of Scotland unlike Mr Forsyth who was handed his title on a plate. The people of Scotland chose Alex Salmond to lead it. Yet his rant was give important media attention so crucial to the No campaign of the so called “better together's”s” We must wonder if Forsyth uses the Skye Bridge and enjoys the luxury of not paying a toll.
When we talk of these antics we must remind ourselves of a date celebrated across the Atlantic the 4th of July. This date is as important to the USA as the many other Nations around the world who celebrate their independence from a ruling country. Let’s remind ourselves of a certain passage of a declaration;
“We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights; that among theses are life, liberty and the persuit of happiness; that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of those ends; it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it; and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organising its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness”
The wording of this American declaration harks back to a time not long after the Battle of Bannockburn when we too declared our rights of freedom. Today we are many, many more than one hundred. “Kick over the wall and cause governments to fall, how can you refuse it”.........................YES in 2014 and YES to a FREE SCOTLAND AND YES TO THE ENDING OF LONDON RULE.......
